MetaDesign strengthens its global presence:
Rupali Steinmeyer becomes managing director of MetaDesign in Beijing
Robert A. Schaefer now creative director at MetaDesign in Düsseldorf
MetaDesign announces two changes in its management board. Rupali Steinmeyer, the head of one of MetaDesign’s business units, will become the managing director of MetaDesign’s office in Beijing in February 2010. Robert A. Schaefer, a former design director at MetaDesign, was promoted to creative director of the agency’s Düsseldorf office effective 1 January 2010.
With these changes Germany’s leading corporate identity and branding agency is strengthening its other offices with two experts from its headquarters in Berlin. Rupali Steinmeyer came to MetaDesign in 2004 from Bombardier. She joined the agency as the head of one of MetaDesign’s business units with around 40 employees, advising such clients as Volkswagen, Munich Re and ENTEGA. Born in India and with a successful career in the USA, her international background has helped her to tailor the agency’s work to the needs of its global clients. Volkswagen’s global dealership concept, developed over the past two years in collaboration with MetaDesign’s Beijing office, is one example of this.
MetaDesign has established a strong foothold in the Chinese market. Branding projects for Volkswagen Group China and its joint ventures, the Zhejiang Daily Press Group and other Fortune 500 companies are on the plan for Steinmeyer and her team. She is looking forward to the challenge: “MetaDesign has earned an outstanding reputation in all areas of strategic branding and corporate identity in Europe. I’m delighted to play a role in helping my team to extend this competence to Asia as well.”
Robert A. Schaefer, for many years a designer and design director at MetaDesign in Berlin, moved to the Rhineland at the beginning of this year. With his promotion to creative director of the MetaDesign’s Düsseldorf office, Schaefer joins the agency’s management board effective 1 January. The winner of many design awards, he has worked on corporate design projects for Munich Re, Volkswagen, DKV, OTTO, the Berliner Volksbank and ENTEGA and developed new design fields such as real estate branding. “I’m looking forward to playing a key role in developing MetaDesign’s Düsseldorf office. The pioneering spirit of the Rhineland team and my many years of experience with the agency are an ideal combination to ensure top-quality results for our clients.”
