Younicos enters renewable energies market
“Let the fossils rest in peace.” That is the claim for the start-up Younicos, a company entering the renewable energies market to developing cutting-edge ideas for carbon-free consumer products to market maturity. MetaDesign provided consulting for the entire strategic development phase of the brand Younicos and was responsible for the company’s corporate design and sound branding.
Alexander Voigt, member of the executive board at Younicos, comments, “In founding Younicos, we aim to turn renewable energies into one of the key driving forces for social and industrial development.” To reach this goal, Younicos will transform workable ideas for self-sufficient carbon-free energy solutions into marketable products, including innovations in generating and storing energy or products for using carbon-free energy while on the go.
MetaDesign provided consulting throughout the entire strategic brand development process. As a company, Younicos thinks and acts as a trend-setter: both evolutionary and independent. Based on these brand values as well as the brand tonality and positioning defined for the company, MetaDesign worked with the agency Endmark to coin the name Younicos. MetaDesign itself developed the claim “Let the fossils rest in peace.” as well as the visual and acoustic brand environment for Younicos.
The name Younicos brings together the meanings conveyed by the words you, unique, united, cosmos and community. Younicos aims to be an open and inspiring cosmos in which people work together to create unique products from unique ideas. The “Y” in the wordmark Younicos is the primary design element of the free, flexible and dynamic network the company aims to make possible. The typeface “FF clan”, designed by Lukasz Dziedzic, communicates clarity and tranquility and gives the brand a modern, premium appearance.
Younicos is a joint effort by Solon Laboratories and I-Sol Ventures GmbH. The company’s founders, Alexander Voigt, Clemens Triebel, Hans-Martin Weiss and Gerhardt Perlot, have long years of experience in establishing and leading renewable energies companies. With Younicos, they bring together their technical know-how, their industry network and their deep understanding of managing development processes from the initial idea to the finished product.
