German Design Award 2009: three nominations for MetaDesign

Three projects by the corporate identity and branding agency MetaDesign have been nominated for the German Design Award 2009: LBi International AB’s new corporate design, the catalog for the exhibition “Feeling in silence” by the photographer Thomas Leininger, and the cultural campaign “The most beautiful French come from New York”.

The new corporate design for LBi International AB was launched in 2007. The new appearance presents the network as a strong international brand that optimally combines the strengths of leading creative agencies.

The campaign “The most beautiful French come from New York” communicated the Berlin exhibition of 19th-century French masterpieces from the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2007. The slogan soon became the trademark of the exhibition, and the distinctive design of the campaign became the hallmark of all communication and advertising materials.

The photographer Thomas Leininger displayed his works under the title “Feeling in Silence” in 2007. The exhibition catalog by MetaDesign communicates the silent power of the pictures and allows the viewer to experience the sensuous clarity of Thomas Leininger’s imagery.

The German Design Award is the highest official design distinction in Germany. The prize is awarded by the Federal Minister for Economy and Technology and organized by the Design Council. Applications for the award are not accepted; works must be nominated by the Economic Ministers and senators of the German states or by the Federal Ministry for Economy and Technology.
