NZZ introduces its new website design by MetaDesign
The «Neue Zürcher Zeitung» enjoys an outstanding international reputation for being one of the world’s leading newspapers. Ten years after launching its website, the NZZ media portal now sports a new design – one that effectively reflects the prestige of this publication.
NZZ Online went live last Friday following six months of implementation efforts. The corporate identity and branding consultancy MetaDesign worked closely with the editorial and marketing staff, as well as a technical realization partner, to develop a concept for an entirely new website.
Two new aspects of the website are particularly interesting: the advantages it presents for readers as well as for the advertising market. Readers will benefit from the completely revised page structure and navigation elements that provide quick orientation, despite the wealth of information available. The homepage opens the door to all other pages. New functions have also been integrated, such as the dialogue option. This enables readers to comment on any articles published online. – NZZ Online also provides a range of new marketing opportunities for the publisher thanks to its larger, more versatile and multimedia-compatible advertising formats.
Dr. Alexander Haldemann, Managing Director and publishing expert, was responsible for the project at MetaDesign and explained its significance: «The new NZZ Online website represents a major step for the newspaper. It sets new standards for the company as well as the industry. It will also shape all online media launched by NZZ in the future.»
