MetaDesign Wins Account for the Annual Report of the German Federal Government

Following a cross-European call for bids, MetaDesign has won the contract to conceptualize and design the German federal government’s annual report. The Berlin-based corporate identity agency won out over its competitors with a dialog-oriented approach focusing on the country’s citizens. The yearly compendium, which is adapted to modern reading habits and provides an interesting overview of developments, is aimed at all citizens of Germany as well as groups in the media, business community and world of politics.

With its annual report, the German federal government honors its obligation to provide information on political decisions, their background and ramifications. The publication is intended to give German citizens a first-hand understanding of politics. As a medium, it helps shape Germany’s image and sets transparency standards for government work.

The account was awarded as part of a four-year umbrella contract. With it, MetaDesign has managed to expand its role in the communication activities of the German federal government. In 1996 the agency was involved in optimizing the federal government’s logo and revising the federal eagle. Since 2003, it has served as the government’s lead corporate design agency, ensuring consistent brand management across all applications.
