MetaDesign Develops New Corporate Design for Siemens mobile
Siemens mobile has chosen a new partner: in a two-stage tendering process, MetaDesign secured the corporate design/identity account of the telecommunications company, winning out against four rivals. MetaDesign AG is now the lead corporate design/identity agency for the mobile phones division, responsible for its visual presence around the world.
The tendering process began in March 2003 and involved intense market research. "In a competitive market, a distinct individual presence is a vital success factor for brand communications. With its new corporate design system, Siemens mobile will demonstrate its uniqueness and set itself apart from the rest of the pack," says Niclas Friese-Greene, marketing communications vice president at Siemens mobile.
Shortly after its first presentation, MetaDesign was commissioned to photograph the entire range of new phone models for both the past year and 2004. The photographs make use of a newly developed visual language.
Over the next twelve months, MetaDesign will not only create the international corporate design system, but also devote itself to brochures, TV commercials, packaging and trade fair stands. The "brand builders" at MetaDesign will even develop future ring tones for Siemens mobile phones. Since 2001, the Berlin-based branding agency has been collaborating closely with the Siemens Group to create a corporate sound for the Siemens brand. The ring tones will be one additional application transporting the electronics group's sound environment.
